The Five O’Clock Steakhouse has held a special place in Milwaukee history for over 75 years.  When you want to take a closer look at the history of our city, it’s well worth a visit downtown to the Milwaukee County Historical Society (www.milwaukeehistory.net) at 910 North Old World Third Street.  Though photos and artifacts, one begins to develop a sense of what it was like to live in Milwaukee 75 years ago.  A visit to the Five O’Clock Steakhouse also gives you that same sense of stepping back in time to another era.  The softly lit décor, cozy padded bar, and professionally dressed staff all add to the impression that you have been transported back in time to a classic Wisconsin supper club right out of the 1950s.   And if you think the ambiance is great, just wait until you taste the food!  The steak selection is only the beginning.  The fine chefs at the Five O’Clock Steakhouse have a wide variety of delicious and intriguing side dishes to complete the perfect meal.

History is all around you when you visit the Five O’Clock Steakhouse.  Located near the borders of the Concordia, Avenues West, and Midtown neighborhoods, visitors will find this whole area rich with architectural gems.  The restaurant is even mentioned in the Avenues West tour of the neighborhood, which Historic Milwaukee Incorporated will occasionally offer during their Doors Open event.  Further cementing their place in history, a new book about the Five O’Clock Steakhouse by Milwaukee historian Robert Tanzilo and Stelio Kalkounos will be coming out in 2022 – watch for it!
