Last year marked a milestone for Five O’Clock Steakhouse, 2416 W. State St., which has been serving customers (and creating fond memories) for 75 years. That’s no small feat, especially given the events over the past few years, from a surge in the price of beef this summer to the overall stressors on the restaurant industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Owner Stelio Kalkounos decided that they would honor this achievement by way of monthly campaigns to give back to the community.  Each month in 2021, they partnered with a different service organization that was already working toward the betterment of the people of Milwaukee.  Stelio believes that when a company like his thrives in the neighborhood, one must give back to the community that helped make the Five O’Clock steakhouse such a great success.

As part of our “Commitment to Community” in 2021 during the celebration of our 75th anniversary, the Five O’ Clock contributed over $31,500 in Cash, plus in-kind donations to 18 of our favorite local charities.

Charities Include: Hunger Task Force, Capuchin Community Services, Our Next Generation, Broadscope Disability Services, Milwaukee Center For Independence, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative, Dryhootch, Sojourner Family Peace Center, Milwaukee County Historical Society, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, MADACC, Wisconsin Humane Society, Charge Against Cancer, Milwaukee Street Angels Outreach.

We look forward to serving the Milwaukee area for 75 more years while also continuing a commitment to our community.
